Reasons for Needed Rescue of Schnoodles

A cross between a poodle and a schnauzer, the schnoodle is an almost perfect little dog. Small to medium in size, and big on personality, one would wonder why a schnoodle rescue organization would need to be created at all. Tragically though, there are many of these groups.

A schnoodle stands twelve to fifteen inches high or more and weighs about ten to forty pounds. This little hybrid’s main goal in life is to be a loved and wanted member of his family, but sadly that’s not often the case and the dog ends up in schnoodle rescue. Other reasons a dog may be given up are, abuse and neglect, the owner has to move, the dog is no longer wanted, or it costs too much to maintain.

Researching a type of dog before purchasing or acquiring one is a responsible and wise thing to do, because it prevents so many of them ending up in shelters or schnoodle rescue. Here is some information on what a schnoodle looks like and type of personality. The fur is wavy and soft to the touch, and may be gray, white, or tan. The tail is short, and the eyes are dark, warm, and expressive. This designer dynamo is intelligent, eager to please, playful and active. The one flaw it has is it loves to bark, but redirected early this can be stopped. But remember they are a protective hybrid and are great little watchdogs, so some announcement barking at proper times could be allowed, but immediately stopped once the source of the barking is alleviated.

The schnoodle is your typical lap dog and will sit on your lap every chance he gets. He is also an active dog who will play fetch and go on runs with you. Another of his favorite things to do is go on car rides. To a schnoodle, there is no such thing as a stranger; everyone is his friend, but especially if they are your friend too. One more really great characteristic of a schnoodle, is they have the sweet temperament of the poodle side, and the energetic playfulness of the schnauzer side. This makes for a perfect package all in one little dog. Now that you know what a schnoodle is and what a great dog it could be for your family, maybe you will consider schnoodle rescue.
